Ross commenced the study of medicine at st. Bartholomew's Hospital in
London in 1875, entered the Indian medical service in 1881. In 1892, he
began his study about malaria. His constant effort led to the demonstration
of the lifestyle of the parasites of malaria in Anopheles mosquitoes. He was
the fellow of the royal society, of which he was the Vice President from
1911-13.He initiated several organizations all around the world for
prevention of malaria. He received the Nobel prize in 1902.
