Paul Ehrlich(1854-1915)
The German bacteriologist who was a pioneer of hematology. He developed immunology and a cure for diphtheria, a common childhood disease. He investigated the possibility of using certain chemicals for cure and found 'chemotherapy', the technique used to treat many diseases including cancer. He was awarded Nobel prize in 1908
