A Danish Physicist. He is famous for creating a new way of picturing the
structure of the atom that led to the birth of modern nuclear physics. The
study of applying quantum theory to Rutherford's ideas about the structure
of the atom, resulted in the 'Rutherford-Bohr atom'. Later he became
interested in nuclear fission and its use in nuclear weapons. Then in the
US, he advised on the development of the atomic bomb.
