Mary Douglas Leaky(1913-1996)
A British anthropologist and archeologist born on 1913 in England. With her husband Louis Seymour Leakey she made many important discoveries of hominid fossils in East Africa. She proved that human ancestors who lived before 3600000 years ago, could stand straight on his legs and walk. Her fossil findings showed not only that human like creatures had lived much earlier, but also that the ancestors of modern humans originated in Africa, not in Asia as believed until then. She published many books on her experiences and researches on fossils. Died on 1996.
