Joseph Priestley(1733-1804)

The British Chemist who discovered Oxygen. He discovered several other
gases and invented systems for collecting them. He also succeeded in
isolating ammonia and carbon monoxide. He produced pure ammonium gas in 1774
and called it 'alkaline air'. He is often described as the father of modern
chemistry.
