A British chemist born on March 27, 1917 in Oxford. He was educated in
Trinity College, Oxford. He was educated at Trinity college in Cambridge. He
made researches on the three dimensional structure of protein molecules. In
those days X-rays was used to find out the structure of crystals and
molecules. Kendrew also used this system to find out the structure of
muscular protein mioglobe. In 1962 Kendrew discovered the three dimensional
structure of the mioglobe and shared the Nobel prize with his instructor Max
Perutz.
