Humphry Davy(1778-1829)
A great English chemist and scientist born on December 17,1778 in Cornwall , UK. In 1799 he discovered the laughing gas (Nitrous Oxide N2O). He isolated radium and potassium in 1807. he determined that chlorine is an element and that hydrogen is present in all acids. In 1815 he invented the Davy's Safety lamp which is named after him. He was knighted in 1812.He died in Geneva on may 29,1829.
