Harold Clayton
Urey(1893-1981)

An American chemist and pioneer in the study of solar system. He isolated
heavy water and discovered Deuterium, a heavy isotope of hydrogen.
During the second world war he worked in the production and use of atomic
bomb. He suggested that the moon had a separate origin from that of the
earth. He along with his associates formulated the basic theory for the
separation of the fissionable isotope Uranium 235 from the much more
common Uranium 238.
