Galileo
Galili(1564-1642)

An Italian scientist whose work revolutionized astronomy.
His
observations confirmed that the earth and other planets revolve around the
sun. He suggested the use of pendulum in clocks. The principle of gravity
that the rate at which an object falls is not related to its mass, was also
found out by him. The 'Compound microscope' was invented in 1590 and this
also credited to Galileo. He also started experiments in 1592, which led to
the invention of 'thermometer'.
