Charles Darwin(1809-1882)
The British Naturalist. He put forward the theory of evolution in his world famous book"Origin of Species by means of natural selection"(1859). The theory put forward by Darwin is known as 'Darwinism'. This theory simplified as'The survival of the fittest', was held to apply equally to the evolution of human beings.
