C.R.Rao(1920-)
Indian mathematician and statistician. Born in 1920 in Andhra Pradesh. He took his doctorate degree from the university of Cambridge. From 1949 to 1964 he was the director of the Indian statistical institute (ISI). He was awarded the prestigious Sandhi swaroop bhatnagar award in 1963. He became the member of the royal society in 1967.He is the author of a number of research papers and books
