Barbara Mc
Clintock(1902-1992)

The American Biologist famous for her research in genetics. She found
that genes can move about on the chromosomes in the nucleus of a cell and a
change in a position of a gene affects the behavior next to it. In 1983 she
was awarded a Nobel prize. In 1994, she became the third woman to be elected
to the academy. In 1970 she received the National medal of science, The US
Govt's highest science awards.
